We service an international portfolio of clients, most of which are either tier-1 exchanges or blue-chip DeFi protocols & projects. Our service offering consists of various service lines such as regulatory advisory and compliance, technical advisory, assistance with licence applications, token analysis and checks, and decentralisation audits/assessments.

We are looking for driven and ambitious junior lawyers interested in developing their knowledge in crypto-assets, both from legal and technical perspectives. As a legal analyst, you will not only be assisting legal professionals working on regulatory matters falling within the scope of EU legislation such as MiCA & MIFID II, but will also have the opportunity to delve into regulatory matters pertaining to other jurisdictions across other continents. The Job

As a Legal Counsel, you will be:

  • Responsible for helping BCAS break into new areas in the crypto industry through research and relaying such to the rest of the team
  • Given detailed training on both legal and technical matters related to the crypto industry, including MiCA, Malta’s VFA framework, the latest developments in areas such as DeFi, and the art of progressive decentralisation
  • Assisting senior lawyers with their day-to-day tasks;
  • Writing cutting-edge content on the latest developments, showcasing the legal and technical expertise for which BCAS is renowned; and
  • Drafting and/or reviewing agreements, policies, procedures or any other documents required by BCAS or its clients.

Requirements

  • Reading or completed the Masters in Advocacy course, or other Masters course;
  • Have a keen interest in crypto-assets, public blockchain networks, and financial services amongst other areas;
  • Knowledge in company law, contract law, European Union law, data protection, and IP laws will be considered as added asset(s);
  • Any previous work experience in aforementioned areas of law is desirable but not essential;
  • Native level of fluency in the English language;
  • Able to handle a ‘firm yet fair’ approach in learning and work ethics;
  • A 5-star service mentality, driven by excellence and to do things well first-time round.
